The University of Engineering and Technology Mardan is a rapidly emerging institute amongst public sector engineering and non-engineering universities due to its location w.r.t. CPEC, its dynamics and adaptability. On September 2, 2021, a part of this transition towards a fully self-dependent institute was achieved with the inauguration of university’s staff hostel by the hands of Federal Minister, Ali Muhammad Khan, along with Mr. Zahid Shah Toru, Member Provincial Assembly, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.  
The honorable minister shared his views on the role of teachers in building nations. He expressed his gratitude to the respected teaching community by endorsing that facilitating teachers would improve the quality of education, add to the socio-economic growth of the country by producing outclass engineers and scientists. Strong Academia builds prospering nations, the federal minister added. On this occasion, the Vice Chancellor UET Mardan, Prof. Dr. Shahid Khan Khattak, Dean Faculty of Engineering and Computing, Prof. Dr. Sadaqat Jan, Registrar UET Mardan, Dr. Muhammad Alam, Chairman Electrical Engineering Department, Prof. Dr. Imran Khan and Pro-Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Sadiq Ullah were along with the federal minister.
Later in the University’s seminar hall, the EHSAAS scholarship availing Batch II students were given with the cheques for their financial support and free education by Federal Minister Ali Muhammad Khan, Mr. Zahir Shah Toru, Member Provincial Assembly, and Assistant Professor Engineer Imran Maqsood, advisor student affairs, UET Mardan. To remember that EHSAAS Student Scholarship Program is managed by Higher Education Commission is indeed one of the remarkable initiatives to support youth while they are in the phase of capacity building.
