Tree Plantation Activity by UET Mardan at Chamtar (Bus Terminal)
In the supervision of Dr. Sadaqat Jan, Dean Faculty of Engineering and Computing, and Dr. Taufeeq, Director Clubs, the University of engineering and technology Mardan had an outstanding outdoor activity of Tree Plantation at Chamtar (Bus Terminal) Mardan on March 17, 2021. The activity included awareness speech, awareness-walk, and tree plantation on a 20 Kanal land that was covered with 800 tree plants.
The awareness and tree plantation drive started at 3:00 PM with cognizance speech on the benefit of greenery and forestation which was followed by an Awareness Walk whereas the students of UET Mardan were commuted under Covid-19 SOPs for reaching the destined site.
On this occasion, the chief guest's Commissioner Mardan Division, Mr. Muntazir Khan and Prof. Dr. Shahid Khattak, Vice-Chancellor, UET Mardan, thanked the District Forest Officer, Mr. Shah Hussain, Tehsil Municipal Officer TMA Mardan Mr. Sarfaraz Khan, Invitees from Mardan Press Club, faculty, organizers and student participants of UET Mardan, for carrying out this full-of-efforts activity and lending precious time from their busy schedule.
The Tree plantation activity is a part of Prime Minister Imran Khan’s Vision of 10 Billion Tree forestation in Pakistan. Clarifying that UET Mardan has been carrying out such environment-friendly activities for many years in the past and its Environment, Health, and Safety Committee (EHS) is adding its part in making UET Mardan and District Mardan a nature-friendly place.
