On February 21, 2024, the students of the 6th semester of the Software Engineering Department, UET Mardan embarked on an educational tour to Lahore, Pakistan. Accompanied by faculty members, including Engr. Imran Maqsood and Engr. Humayun Khan, the students were eager to explore both the technological and historical facets of the city.
The journey commenced with a visit to Techverx, a renowned software company, where the students were warmly received by the team. A comprehensive presentation on leading-edge technologies was delivered, offering valuable insights into the evolving landscape of software development. Following the presentation, the students had the opportunity to interact with the HR representative, Saad Qureshi, gaining further insights into the company's culture and opportunities.
In the subsequent days, the group proceeded to explore historical landmarks in Lahore, including the Wahga Border, a symbol of the Indo-Pakistani border ceremony, and Minar-e-Pakistan. Visits to Shahi Qila/Lahore Fort and Badshahi Masjid, iconic symbols of Lahore's rich cultural heritage, were also part of the itinerary.
Such experiences underscore the Department of Software Engineering's commitment to holistic education, blending theoretical knowledge with practical exposure, ensuring students are equipped for the dynamic demands of the industry.
