A “Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)” was signed on Wednesday, 18 November 2020 between the University of Engineering and Technology Mardan, and DEMO-TechValley Joint Venture For “Women Empowerment through Digital Skills (WEDS) Program.” The MoU was signed on behalf of UET, Mardan by the Deputy Registrar, Mr. Haseeb Khan, and on behalf of DEMO TechValley by Project Manager, Mr. Shahwar Khan.

The initiative is being sponsored by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Technology Board - KPITB through a grant from the Multi-Donor Trust Fund administered by the World Bank. The aim of the program is to train women across the seven divisions of Khyber Pukhtunkhwa and place them in relevant jobs under KP Youth Program so that women can be included in the digital economy.

The scope of this MoU is to empower female students of our University and train them in the university premises or online mode on modules of Social Media Marketing, WordPress Design and Development, Graphic Designing, Blogging and Content Writing, and Digital Tools for Daily Productivity.

For the above facilitation of the training, the Demo TechValley will be seeking support from the UET Mardan for the providence of physical facility, Workshop/ Training Hall and Computer Lab, and resources, whereas UET Mardan is keen on facilitating the great initiative.
