The Department of Electrical Engineering offers the following MS programs:

  • M.Sc. Electrical Engineering with specializations in:
    • Power Systems and Control Engineering
    • Communication and Electronics Engineering
  • M.Sc. Renewable Energy Engineering
Eligibility Criteria for Admission in M.Sc. Renewable Energy Engineering

Eligibility criteria is as follows:

  • Candidates seeking admission must possess a BS/BSc/BE degree in a relevant Engineering discipline such as Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Energy Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Material Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or any other related engineering field accredited by the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC).
  • Applicants holding 16 years of education in a relevant Engineering Technology, Basic Sciences, or Applied Sciences program, recognized by the respective accreditation body and the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan, are also eligible to apply.
  • Candidates must have a minimum CGPA of 2.0 (out of 4.0) or at least 60% marks where CGPA is not applicable.
  • All applicants are required to qualify either the GRE-General Test administered by the Education Testing Service with a minimum cumulative score of 50%, or the GAT-General Test conducted by the Educational Testing Council or a University Authorized Testing Agency (UATA) with at least a 50% cumulative score.
  • Test scores shall remain valid as per HEC guidelines, and the final merit list will be prepared based on 70% weightage for the GRE/GAT test and 30% weightage for the terminal degree.
Eligibility Criteria for Admission in MSc. Electrical Engineering

Eligibility criteria is as follows:

  • Candidates seeking admission must have a Bachelor’s Degree (16 years of education) in a relevant discipline. (i.e. B.Sc/BS/BE in Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunication) from a program accredited by Pakistan Engineering Council and program recognized by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan.
  • Score of at least 50% marks in GRE General Type test, organized by University Appointed Testing Authority (UATA).
Course Work

The M.Sc students are required to study and pass eight (08) courses comprising of three (03) core courses and five (05) electives. Table 1 shows the number of courses the M.Sc students’ needs to register and qualify for completion of their course work
